Recipe for Strawberry Jello Pound Cake

What You Need

1 strawberry cake mix ½ package strawberry jello 6 ounces 4 eggs ¾ cup vegetable oil ¾ cup hot water ½ package strawberry jello 6 ounces ½ cup hot water 2 Tablespoons butter or margarine 2 cups powdered sugar

How to Make It

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan or a loaf pan and set aside until needed.

Using a large mixing bowl add the cake mix, ½ package of strawberry jello, the eggs, vegetable oil and water and then blend until thoroughly mixed.

Beat for 2 more minutes, and then pour cake batter into the prepared loaf pan or tube pan. Place in the oven and bake for approximately 45 to 60 minutes or until done.

Just a few minutes before the cake is done in the oven, you will make the icing for the strawberry jello pound cake. To do this you will dissolve the other ½ package of strawberry jello in the ½ cup boiling water and then you will add the butter or margarine to the mixture and then stir in the powdered sugar.

After removing the cake from the oven, you will use some utensil such as a fork or ice pick to carefully punch holes into the top of the cake and all the way through the cake. You will need to make many holes in the finished cake.

After punching holes in the finished cake you will pour the jello icing onto the strawberry pound cake while it is still hot. Place in the refrigerator to cool for several hours before serving.
