Incredibly Delicious Italian Dessert Recipes For Dessert Lovers

In the history of desserts, famous Italian dessert recipes definitely stand out. Italian desserts range in flavor from bitter to sweet and they go nicely with a glass of wine. In Italy, the locals are just as likely to eat a piece of fruit for dessert as an indulgent, creamy confection.

jello shots

If you have visited an Italian bakery, you will have seen many different varieties of cookies and biscotti. The Italians like to dunk their biscotti in red wine. A lot of Italian cookies are sweet but not excessively so and light glazes often provide most of the flavoring. Nuts or candied fruit are often added too. Biscotti might be very popular in the United States but in Italy hard, slightly sweet twice baked cookies are more popular. They are baked twice to remove as much moisture as possible, which makes the cookies dry, crumbly, and hard.

JELLO

Which is the Most Famous Italian Dessert?

Tiramisu is thought to have originated in Siena. Duke Cosimo de Medici enjoyed it so much that it spread around the world with Italian immigrants. Tiramisu is a delicious combination of lady finger cookies, liquor, espresso, cocoa, mascarpone cheese, and eggs.

The best known Italian cake has to be panettone, which is from Milan. Boxes of this cake can be found in cafes and Italian bakeries during the holiday season all over the world. The fluffy panettone dough is flavored with raisins and candied fruit pieces and the cake is shaped like a dome. Italians enjoy panettone with zabaglione custard or mascarpone cheese and a glass of liqueur or dessert wine.

Perhaps you have tried Italian gelato. This is ice cream made with milk, sugar and flavoring. Sometimes it contains eggs and cream. Gelato is churned less than regular ice cream, making it less airy and more dense. Italian desserts are best eaten in moderation because a lot of them are very rich. If you find a lot of Italian desserts heavenly but a bit too rich, why not make your own and change the ingredients to tone them down a bit?

Using Jello in Italian Dessert Recipes

Gelato is a great candidate for experimentation with jello. Italian ice cream is nearly free of air, which makes it dense and super heavy. By combining gelato, boiling water, and jello powder, you can create a deliciously light dessert with a nice texture and any jello flavor you like. You can use sugar free jello to halve the calories because half the dessert is jello and the sugar free kind is also calorie free.

If you happen to own an ice cream machine, you can make gelato with kool aid and jello, which tastes great and makes a refreshing dessert on balmy summer evenings. Jello goes with a lot of ingredients, with fruit trifle being a great example.

Jello also goes nicely with fruit pieces, with custard or zabaglione or with chocolate. In fact, it is one of the most versatile dessert ingredients you can get and it is great for making Italian dessert recipes lighter. Dessert making is a creative process and you might feel like making a rich, luxurious tiramisu one day and healthier layer jello recipes the next.

Lemony Jello - Simple Cheesecake Recipe

Cheesecake is a delicious dessert and thanks to jello, simple to make. Many times there is a word or phrase used in the ingredients or directions that is unfamiliar. When it is looked up, the description is often a surprise. We learn something to share with others, and make our recipes turn out better.

jello molds

Desiccated coconut is one of those terms. The coconut is shredded and flaked. Next, as much moisture as possible is removed. Sometimes the coconut is taken past flakes, to a powdery substance. There is unsweetened and sweetened desiccated coconut.

JELLO

When you find a recipe that uses desiccated coconut, look to see if it specifies sweetened or unsweetened. It is important to keep the balance of flavor in your recipe. Too much or too little sugary additives can throw the taste off. If the recipe does not indicate what is needed, take a look at the other ingredients. If there are a lot of sugary tastes in other ingredients, select the unsweetened variety. When it looks like the coconut is the only source of sweetening, use the sweetened type.

Desiccated coconut swells somewhat when it comes in contact with moisture. It needs to be stored in a tightly-sealed container, away from humidity. When used in a recipe, it will swell. Coconut flakes and shreds will get larger when put in brownie, cookie, or cake batter. If the powdered type is used, there is less increase in size.

If the recipe calls for desiccated coconut, but you are unable to find it, use sweetened or unsweetened dried coconut, according to what is called for in the recipe. Dried coconut has higher moisture content. Measure out a little less than the amount in the recipe. For instance, remove a tablespoon of flaked coconut from the cup requested when measuring. That should account for the moisture already in the dried coconut.

Simple Lemony Jello Cheesecake

Like most cheesecake recipes, this one uses a springform pan. Family and visitors will be impressed with the lovely dessert you have prepared.

What You Need:

1 1/2 cups coconut cookies, crushed 1/2 cup unsweetened desiccated coconut 1/2 cup melted butter 1 package lemon jello 1/2 cup lemon juice 2 teaspoons grated lemon rind 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1/2 cup boiling water 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 cup softened cream cheese

How To Make It:

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the crushed cookies, melted butter, and coconut. Put it in a 9 inch springboard pan. Press on the bottom and sides. Chill.

Put the lemon jello into a large mixing bowl. Add the boiling water and stir, dissolving jello crystals. Add the lemon juice and rind, mixing well. Cool.

In a medium mixing bowl, beat the vanilla and condensed milk until thick.

Combine the softened cream cheese and condensed milk mixture with the jello mixture. Thoroughly blend the ingredients, and pour them into the prepared crust. Chill until firm (about 4 hours).

Sprinkle lemon rind across the top for garnish, if desired.

Serves 8

This is a kid-friendly recipe. An older child or adult should handle the boiling water part. Kids will particularly enjoy pressing the cookie mixture in the springboard pan. Everyone will enjoy eating the finished recipe.

Desserts - How to Make a Jello Cream Cake

This is a recipe my sister-in-law used to make for every family get together. Since everyone loved it, she just always brought it. With everyone's kids grown and schedules so different, we haven't seen this cake in many years.

jello jiggler molds

When I recently dug the recipe out of my recipe box, my daughter looked at it and said, "Mom I don't remember it, but a cake and jello all in one?" The answer is yes, this is jello on top of a crust. It comes out wonderfully. My daughter wanted it made immediately.

JELLO

Here is a list of the ingredients used in the recipe:

½ cup butter (you can also use a lower calorie margarine for this recipe)
½ cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 small package lemon jello
1 large package lime jello
8 ounces of cream cheese, softened
2 cups whipping cream, whipped
¾ cup white sugar

You start by making the crust. Cream together the butter and brown sugar. Mix in the flour and walnuts. Mix until well mixed. This will form your crust. Press the crust into a 9x13 casserole dish. Bake at 375 degrees 8- 10 minutes. Do not overcook.

You now create your first jello layer. Dissolve the lemon jello in one cup of boiling water. Dissolve completely and then allow to cool. Mix together the cream cheese and white sugar. Then add the whipped cream. Mix well. Add the lemon jello to the mixture and stir. Pour over the cooled crust and refrigerate. You need this first layer to set.

Once set, create your second layer. Dissolve the lime jello in three cups of boiling water. Allow to cool and then pour over the lemon jello layer. Return to the refrigerator until completely set. You can now cut it into squares and serve. We like to top it with a small scoop of whipped cream.

Once you learn how to make this recipe, you can create different color combinations for holidays. For example, during Valentines Day you might consider either two red layers or making the first layer with non-colored jello and your second layer with red. For Christmas, you can make one layer red and one green. For Independence Day, try one blue layer and one red layer. Your crust is light brown, so your cake looks patriotic.

As you choose colors, consider taste combinations. For example strawberry and raspberry jello are close in color but very different tastes. Also, we use sugar free jello when making this recipe as there is plenty of other sugar in the cake.

Try the cake and see if you like it as is. If you don't like the walnuts, try using other types of nuts.

Strawberry Poke Cake - Your Guests Will Do More Than Poke at This Dish!

If you love strawberry desserts like a strawberry pie jello recipe or plump, juicy strawberries with ice cream, you are going to love strawberry poke cake. A poke cake is made by poking holes in a baked cake and then pouring jello over the cake and allowing it to set.

jello shot syringes

You can make small holes with a fork or bigger ones with a chopstick. Any flavor of jello is great for making poke cake recipes, although contrasting colors are good so strawberry or raspberry jello would look nice on a white cake and anything would go with a chocolate cake.

JELLO

Part of the appeal of poke cakes is how great they taste. Not only does the jello give a fruity flavor to the cake but also the whole cake is covered in jello, which gives it a great texture. If you accidentally overcook a cake and it comes out of the oven dry, you can pour jello over it to disguise the fact!

Poke cakes are great fun to make and that is true whether the kids are helping you to bake or whether you are doing it yourself. Poking the holes with the fork is fun and so is pouring the jello mixture over the cake and waiting patiently for it to set so you can have a big slice!

You can either serve a poke cake plain or garnish it with whipped cream and fresh fruit. If you do not use the cream and fruit, why not serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or some chocolate ice cream syrup, to dress it up a bit? This dessert is great for kids and adults alike. It is ideal for anyone who loves jello recipes and that includes nearly everybody.

Recipe for Strawberry Poke Cake

The following recipe makes a beautiful cake, which serves six people. You can use a cake mix, for convenience sake, and decorate the cake with the juiciest, plumpest fresh strawberries you can find, for spectacular results. Keep any leftover cake in the refrigerator.

What you will need:

3 oz package strawberry jello 1 package white cake mix Oil, eggs, and water (as specified on the cake mix container) 1 cup boiling water 12 oz whipped cream 12 fresh strawberries

How to make it:

Make the cake, following the instructions on the package. Bake the cake for about forty minutes or until it is done at 350 degrees F. Let it cool in the cake pan for fifteen minutes, and then let it finish cooling on a wire rack. Poke holes all over the cake using a fork.

Dissolve the strawberry jello in the boiling water and pour this mixture all over the cake. You should set the wire rack over a rimmed baking sheet to catch any jello drips. Chill the strawberry poke cake for four hours or until the jello has set. Decorate the cake with whipped cream and fresh strawberries.

How to Use Jello to Flavor Your Dessert Recipes

Jello is traditionally combined with water or another liquid such as 7Up, cola or fruit juice and left to set in the refrigerator. However, sometimes jello powder is used in other ways.

You might want to try mixing the jello powder with the amount of hot water called for on the back of the packet but omitting the cold water. This is how you make finger jello, so named because it is solid enough to pick up and eat with the fingers.

JELLO

Using Dry Jello Powder in Recipes

Another way to use jello is to flavor your dessert recipes by adding the jello to a recipe. You can use the same jello flavor as your dessert or a contrasting flavor.

If you are making a strawberry cake, for example, you might like to add some lime jello powder to the cake for a tangy taste or you can add strawberry jello to intensify the strawberry flavor.

Using Dry Jello in Savory Dishes

There are some savory dishes, which call for jello powder. For example, you can make a delicious Chinese lemon chicken with lemon jello. Lemon jello granules are sweet but so is Chinese lemon chicken so it works wonderfully.

Rhubarb Cobbler with Strawberry Jello

The following recipe combines strawberry jello powder with fresh rhubarb and other tasty ingredients for a really great tasting dessert. Rhubarb is both sweet and tart at the same time and is ideal for people who do not like over sweet desserts.

This recipe serves two people if you serve it alone or four if you serve it with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.

The rhubarb is flavored with the strawberry jello powder and it sits in a homemade pastry base and is topped with a sweet topping, which dissolves in the oven, soaking up the flavors from the rhubarb and the strawberry jello.

Strawberry and Rhubarb Cobbler Recipe

What you will need:
1 1/2 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 stick plus 2 tablespoons butter 1 beaten egg 3 cups chopped rhubarb 2 tablespoons milk 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup sugar 3 oz package strawberry jello
How to make it:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cut 2 tablespoons of butter into 1 cup of the flour until you have a mixture like fine breadcrumbs. Add the milk, eggs, salt, and baking powder and make a soft dough.

Press it into an 8 x 8 inch pan, pressing the dough up the pan sides. Put the rhubarb in the bottom and sprinkle the jello powder over the top.

Combine the rest of the flour with the rest of the butter and the sugar to make the topping. Sprinkle this over the jello powder and bake for about 30 minutes or until the rhubarb is soft.

How To Make Coffee Flavored Jello

Sometimes a homemade meal, such as pot roast, is perfectly suited for dessert. If potatoes, gravy, and biscuits or rolls have been served with the main course, the last thing that is needed is a heavy dessert, such as cake or pie. Jello is the perfect answer, with a special twist.

jello shot cups with lids

Jell-O has been a staple of family dessert menus for years. Before Jell-O, there was gelatin, which required sugar and flavoring added before it tasted like a dessert. When the mixture was perfected and packaged, basic flavors such as cherry were offered. Becoming more adventurous, other fruits, and fruit blends became popular. Stores now carry seasonal specials, such as Strawberry Daiquiri, that can be made with or without a bit of liquor.

JELLO

Those involved with a scout troop or youth club have most likely encountered finger jello. It jiggles just like the normal jello dessert, except it has more body and can actually be held while eaten. It can be cut into many strips or cubes. It is a very kid-friendly product. Children can make the thicker jello mixture and pour it into a small cookie sheet or baking pan to finish firming. When it is ready to cut, they can use their favorite cookie cutters instead of making strips. Spray the cutters with non-stick spray first to prevent sticking.

It is simple to prepare finger jello for those who must limit their sugar intake. Use one of the many flavors of sugar-free jello. For a special treat, buy a small bag of sugar free peppermint patties and melt two in the microwave (about 15 to 20 seconds). Stir the mint and chocolate with a fork, and drape the mixture across the sugar-free finger jello cutouts. I always cut out the ingredient display of the package and tape it to an index card. The card is set in front of the dessert tray.

Pour the contents of the Lemon Jello packet into a medium sized plastic or glass bowl. Slowly add the hot coffee, stirring with a spoon until the jello is dissolved. Add the cold water, slowly stirring to blend the coffee/lemon jello mixture. Pour into six individual dessert cups, or to make it a special dessert, pour into six stemware glasses. Refrigerate for at least four hours.

Just before serving the dessert, shake the can of whipping cream and put it on top of the coffee jello in each dessert cup. It can be in a swirl or layer. Shake some of the chocolate sprinkles on the whipping cream.

This dessert can also be made by using one of the sugar-free Jello gelatin products. Instead of whipping cream from the can, thaw and use a bowl of the frozen light whipped dessert toppings. Use just a few chocolate sprinkles, if desired, for each serving, or put a sugar-free chocolate piece on top.

Chinese Desserts - From Fresh Fruit to Elaborate Puddings

There are not so many Chinese desserts as western desserts, for the simple reason that the Chinese are not huge dessert fans. We might consider a jello recipe to be the perfect end to a dinner, or a no bake cheesecake to be the ultimate indulgence, but a Chinese person would probably opt for a piece of fruit. There are some Chinese desserts but these tend to be overly sweet. Also, the Chinese prefer to snack between meals rather than eat their desserts after a meal.

jello shot syringes

A lot of Chinese homes did not have refrigerators until recently, which is another reason why chilled desserts have never been that popular. Ovens were also quite rare, which is why a lot of Chinese cakes are steamed instead of baked.

JELLO

Chinese food is often quickly cooked and chefs love to cook rice and noodle stir fries in minutes. Elaborate, time consuming desserts are perhaps not that appealing to a Chinese chef who just wants to make quick dishes.

Examples of Chinese Dessert Recipes

Almond tea used to be sold door to door in China and it was made by grinding almonds and raw rice by hand. Today this treat is made with almond paste and rice flour. Adding gelatin or agar agar to this tea results in almond junket, which is the closest Chinese equivalent to western jello recipes. Almond tea is extremely sweet.

Peking dust is another popular dessert in China and this combination of whipped cream and chestnuts is thought to have been invented by western settlers in the early twentieth century. Precious pudding is a sweet rice pudding with dates, maraschino cherries and other colorful fruits. Each fruit is supposed to symbolize a precious stone such as emerald or ruby.

Tropical fruits are popular in China and you can choose from lychees, mandarin oranges, mangos and more. Serve fresh fruit marinated in a liqueur or steam it in honey syrup. You can also make banana or pineapple fritters and serve them with ice cream.

How to Combine Jello with Chinese Desserts

Jello is popular all over the world and you can combine China's delicious fresh fruits with jello to make delicious desserts. What about adding lychees or rambutan to your favorite jello? Mandarin segments and banana slices are well loved in jello recipes but adding exotic fruits would add a special touch, especially if you plan to serve the jello recipe after an Asian dinner.

If you are watching your weight, you can always follow dinner with some China tea, perhaps jasmine tea or green tea, and a bowl of sugar free jello. Add some tropical fruits or simply leave it plain. This gives you enough sweetness to satisfy your sweet tooth and is a fat free and almost calorie free dessert. You can add artificial sweetener to the tea, or maybe a little honey.

Tips for Making Layer Jello Recipes

Layer jello recipes are one of the more popular desserts you will find, especially during the holidays. These recipes are nice, because they do offer a series of delicious flavor combinations that will have your taste buds popping with the different flavor combinations. Of course, if you have never made them before, you might not be sure how to make them. This process is a bit more complicated than throwing a number of different hot mixtures in the same pan. We will look at some tips that even the more advanced professional might find helpful.

jello shot cups

To begin with, you might not be sure how to create the layered effect. This is easily done with the use of the fridge and some extra time. Begin by creating your first flavor that will be going into your layer jello recipes and use half a cup of hot water. Then mix it well, follow it with a half a cup of chilled water. This will help your jello to start becoming solid faster. Place it in the bottom of a slightly greased pan. Then allow it to chill for an hour or until firm.

JELLO

The grease will help to prevent the jello from forming to imperfections in the pan. It will also help to block the flavor of the metallic pans that people often use. Of course, you will want to choose an unflavored grease if you are going to go this route. Otherwise, you just exchange out some of the different flavors in this case.

When you are ready to place your next layer down, be sure you do not pour it over the cool jello at a temperature above warm. If you do, the lower layer of jello will begin to blend with the mixture that you just placed over it and it might not set the way you would like it to.

While you are creating your layer jello recipes, you might also consider making some fun adjustments. One of the most common is using chilled lemon lime soda in place of the chilled water. This adds a spark to the mix and can give your guests one of the most unique flavor variations that will certainly have them talking for some time to come.

Remember that the overall goal in this recipe is to create a decent number of layers. Many people will go for 7 -9 and create a full rainbow that will dazzle the eyes as well as the palate. Be sure you get creative and do not be afraid to experiment. With this delicious dish, there really is no wrong flavor combination and instead, you might find that your own creation is better than any you have tried before in the past.

How To Make Jello Jigglers

Jello Jigglers are among the fun choices you have for layer jello recipes. In this method, you create a dessert that is not only fun to eat, but also fun to create and the process is not too hard at all. In fact, it can be done in just a few hours, and then you are on your way to having something you can make with your children or something that can bring out the inner child in you.

jello shots

Start the process by making your jello inside of a large bowl. In here, use juice instead of water to help increase the flavor of your mixture. You can choose to use fruit flavored soda as well to give it a bite if you want. Stir it slowly to ensure you have the mixture mixed. Then allow it to set for a few minutes. When this is done, you will add in a few ice cubes and put it in the fridge.

JELLO

If you are going to be making one of the layer jello recipes to use for your jigglers, you will need to allow it to sit for an hour and place in another layer. If you are keeping it at a single layer, then let it sit for four hours to ensure it has molded well. You can of course wait longer on this process if you need to.

Once you mixture has set, then you can begin to cut out fun shapes with it. This method can be pretty tricky and you will want to be sure you take a sound approach to this process. It is generally a good idea for you to use cookie cutters from the freezer and then use them in this process. Cut out each of the different shapes that you want and then return them to the fridge placed on waxed paper to ensure that they do not end up sticking together. Just be sure to cover your treats as well to help prevent the flavor of the fridge from getting into them.

Something to note if you choose to go with one of the layer jello recipes to do this, is that you will need to allow the final mixture to set at least four hours before you do this process. The time cannot begin from the first layer that you put down as the layering process does not ensure that all the jello sets at the same point. If you do this process correctly, then you should have multicolored offerings that really have a great flavor and will leave everyone looking for a few more jigglers as well. You can also choose to use sugar free jello in this process if it appeals to you.

Experience A Super Moist Cake With A Jello Cake Recipe

There is no doubt that we all want to create the ultimate moist and flavorful cake. There are of course a number of recipes that will claim they have the moistest cake, but each of them tends to fall short when compared to a jello cake recipe. These delicious cakes retain quite a bit of moisture and will be among the most delectable cake offerings that you will experience.

jello molds

While you might figure you can only make fruit flavored variations of these styles, the truth is you can turn a devil's food cake into the same moist experience that you would find in a cherry chip cake. While you might have to replace unflavored gelatin in some of these recipes, this is not too much of a problem as it can be found in most any grocery store you shop in, and the flavor will remain among the best. If you are planning to bake in bulk, you might check into the larger size boxes that come in the big box stores, just be sure you adjust them from the recipe you are making.

JELLO

Another important consideration to take when you are making a jello cake recipe is that cooking times and temperatures should continue to be adhered to just the same as they would be if you were making a standard cake. Just because they lock in moisture better, does not mean that they will not dry out. Keep your eye on the standard time suggestions that are made for them and you should not have too many problems experiencing this issue in the future.

Once your cake is baked, you will allow it to cool as you normally would and then frost with your favorite frosting. The only difference you should end up noticing is that you have added a moist texture to your cake and that people are asking you for a recipe, even if you popped open your favorite box of cake mix and dumped in a packet of jello. Just try to be creative and come up with some interesting takes on traditional favorites to see if you can improve on them and to see what the final outcome might end up being.

Simple Jello Cake

What You Will Need

1 package yellow cake mix 1 small box jello 3 eggs 1/3 cup vegetable oil 2 cups water 1 container Cool Whip

How to Make It

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and then create you cake according to the standard directions, but use 1 cup of water, eggs and oil as mentioned above. Bake according to their specifications, or until it has come out golden brown, then allow it to cook. When that is done, begin to add a series of tiny holes your cake. Boil the next cup of water and then mix the jello and pour it on the cake and place it in the fridge. Allow the cake to become well chilled. Add whipped topping in between layers or over the top of the cake and then serve.

The History of Cheesecake - Ancient Greece to Today

Cheese can be traced back about four thousand years, since cheese molds dating to that time have been found. It is thought that cheesecake was served to the athletes in the first Olympic Games in 776 BC.

jello shots

The Romans conquered Greece and found out about this delicious dish. They then brought cheesecake from Greece to other parts of Europe but it did not appear in the United States until European immigrants arrived, bringing cheesecake recipes.

JELLO

Cheesecake was known as "placenta" in Roman times and also as "libum." Early cheesecakes were made on a pastry base or in a pastry shell and sometimes offered to the gods in Roman temples.

An early Roman recipe for cheesecake calls for crushed cheese, flour and an egg. The ingredients would have been combined and cooked under a brick in a hot fire. Cheesecake preparation methods have obviously come a long way since then!

The Addition of Cream Cheese to Cheesecake

An American dairy man who was trying to copy a French cheese, Neufchatel, accidentally invented cream cheese instead in 1872. This cream cheese was distributed from 1880 onwards, in foil wrappers and was named Philadelphia.

New York's Phoenix Cheese Company bought the business in 1903 and the Philadelphia brand was bought in 1928 by the Kraft Cheese Company, who later became Kraft Foods.

Pasteurized cheese was invented in 1912 and pasteurized Philadelphia is still the most popular cheese for making cheesecakes today.

Cheesecake with Jello Recipes

Did you know that you can make cheesecake with jello? The crunchy biscuit layer and cool, creamy layer are wonderful underneath a fruity jello layer.

The following recipe for no bake raspberry cheesecake serves eight people (or four if you want a big portion each!) and is very simple to make. There is no baking involved so, as long as you can measure out the ingredients and combine them, there is nothing that can go wrong. You can replace the raspberry jello for another flavor of jello and the raspberries for another kind of fruit if you want to make a different flavor of jello cheesecake recipe.

How to Make Raspberry Jello Cheesecake

What you will need:
3 oz package raspberry jello Handful fresh or thawed raspberries 1 1/4 cups white sugar 1 cup boiling water 1/4 cup melted butter 2 teaspoons vanilla essence 1 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs 1 big can well chilled Carnation milk 8 oz cream cheese
How to make it:

Combine the graham cracker crumbs with the butter and 1/4 cup of the sugar and press this mixture on to the base of a glass pie plate. Chill it in the refrigerator.

Dissolve the jello in the boiling water and stir well. Combine the cream cheese, the rest of the sugar and the vanilla in a mixer and beat until it is smooth. Whip the Carnation milk in another bowl and add the cooled jello mixture.

Add the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla mixture to the whipped milk and jello and stir well. Add the raspberries. Pour the jello mixture on top of the graham crumb crust. Chill for at least four hours, and then serve.

Adapt any Jello Recipe to Suit the Occasion

JELLO

You can easily adapt any jello recipe to suit the occasion or the party theme you are trying to create. For instance, in this recipe we are using orange flavor gelatin; however there are so many other delicious flavors of instant gelatin or instant pudding from which you can choose to include. For instance, you can take this pineapple party cake and turn it into a peach or blueberry delight. It all just depends on what flavor you are craving.

You might also choose to add different flavors by using bananas, berries, kiwi, or many other different types of fresh or canned fruits. Making the cakes yourself for this recipe can be fun when it comes to making everything homemade. However, you might also use prepared cake layers from the grocery store instead of making the cake for this dessert yourself. For instance, some may consider using an angel food cake. No matter, the reason or the ingredients, you want to make something that has everyone asking for a seconds.

Recipe for Pineapple Party Jello Cake

What You Need
1 2-layer baked and cooled white cake ¾ cup boiling water 1 package orange flavor jello gelatin 3 ounce 1 can crushed pineapple and juice 1 ½ cups ice cubes 1 container whipped topping 8 ounce

How to Make It

Make and bake a white cake mix according to the directions of the box to make a 2-layer 9 inch cake. Allow the cake to become completely cool, while setting aside until needed.

Using a medium size saucepan, you will heat to boiling the ¾ cup of water and then gradually add the orange flavor gelatin. Stir continually while heating to dissolve the gelatin.

Add the pineapple and juice and the ice cubes, stirring for 3 to 5 minutes to thoroughly blend as the gelatin thickens. Remove any remaining ice and discard. Place in the refrigerator overnight or until the gelatin is thickened and chilled.

Spoon 1 cup of the thickened orange gelatin over each layer of the cake and then chill overnight or for at least 2 hours.

Into the remaining orange gelatin mixture you will fold the whipped topping and then set aside until needed.

Using a large serving platter you will place one cake layer with the gelatin side up and then you will place the second cake layer on top of the first cake layer. Using the whipped topping mixture you will frost the sides of the cake and approximately 1 inch around the top edge of the cake. Place in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 2 to 3 hours before serving.

Make Your Jello Look Like Stained Glass

Stained Glass Jello is an attractive dessert to share at potlucks, parties or just for fun. The best part is you can make the colors anything you like. Perhaps you want a rainbow and choose several colors. Maybe you are making it for a wedding shower and want colors similar to the wedding colors. Serve it at a football party and make it in the colors of your favorite team. Serve it at a kids' party and choose colors from a Hogwarts House like Gryffindor. Make it for Christmas in red and green. No matter what colors you choose, this is a fun and colorful treat that will attract everyone's attention.

jello shot molds

This is a really easy dessert to make, but you do need to plan ahead. The colorful cubes can be made a couple of days before your event so the milk gelatin will get to sit overnight. The kids will not be able to keep their hands off it. Stained Glass Jello will keep them giggling and happy. This is a really fun dessert for all ages, plus you can eat it with your fingers!

JELLO

Make this recipe and you will see how fast it becomes a family tradition. It takes finger Jello to a whole new level. While the cubes look great, you can also use cookie cutters and make great shapes. Imagine red and blue Jello set in the milk gelatin and cut into stars for the 4th of July. You could do the same for Christmas using red, green, and yellow Jello for your stained glass colors. Cut them with star or tree cookie cutters. Use red, yellow, and orange Jello to make Stained Glass Jello for the fall; just cut it with leaf or pumpkin cookie cutters. You are limited only by your imagination and how many cookie cutters you have in your drawer.

Recipe for Stained Glass Jello

Choose your own colors for holidays, teams, or other themes.

What You Need

4 small boxes (3 ounces each) of Jello gelatin in different colors 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin

How to Make It

Dissolve each box of Jello separately into a cup of boiling water. Pour the mixture into a container and let it chill until firm.

Cut the Jello into small cubes. Mix the colored cubes carefully in a large glass baking pan.

In another mixing bowl, mix the envelopes of unflavored gelatin with 1/2 cup cold water. After the gelatin blooms, add 1-1/2 cup of boiling water to the mix and let it all dissolve. Mix in the can of condensed milk. Stir well and let it cool.

Pour the cooled milk mixture over the colored Jello cubes. For the best results, take time to remove any tiny bubbles that appear after you pour the milk mixture over the cubes. Chill the pan overnight.

Cut the chilled gelatin into squares or use cookie cutters to create shapes. Serve your colorful treats.

8 Reasons Why Life is Like Jello

1 It comes in rich, vibrant colors: Obvious but nonetheless true. Color is jellos reason for being. Can you imagine colorless jello? The essence of life is no less vibrant.

jello molds

2 It has a secret formula: Does anybody know what in it and why it is there in the first place? The best approach is to accept as it is and enjoy it.

JELLO

3 It is wobbly and some what elusive: Have you ever tried holding jello in your hands? Isn't life often just as difficult to grasps?

4 It makes children happy: Children show the same wide-eyed intrigue and enthusiasm for life as they do for jello.

This may or may not diminish with time but you will find you are in trouble once you start taking jello to seriously.

5 Best enjoyed in small servings: The best moments in life are just that-moments. Jello is also particularity enjoyable when dispatched into little plastic cups and consumed in small doses.(Usually several are required.)

6 It shapes well. You can put in different containers and end up with a variety of results. Aren't our lives moulded to some extent by our surroundings and the way we perceive things?

7 There is a time frame too: Like life, jello functions within a specific time frame. It has an infancy stage, a mature/ripe staged and a get-that-things away from me stage!

8 Its worth the wait: Waiting for jello to set is phenomenally challenging.

Milestone in life too are similarly not so easy to achieve. The truth is that you just cant hurry life, love or jello.

Layer Jello With Fruit Recipes

Jello is made from gelatin, a binding agent. It also serves as an adhesive, thickener, and whipping agent. Corn syrup, water, and sugar are mixed with flavor, texture modifiers, and color to make gelatin confections such as marshmallows. One of the favorite ingredients in confectionery, gelatin can foam, gel, and solidify, forming a flavorful shape that can later dissolve in the mouth.

jello shot syringes

Because jello can have so many different flavors and colors, yet still remain light and non-filling, it is popular for use in many different foods. The creation of ready-to-make sugar-free gelatin mix has added customers who previously could not consume the sugar in standard packages of jello. Jello and fruit mixtures are very popular.

JELLO

Jello salad recipes are so good that they can be served as dessert. The following recipe gets a tropical flavor with fresh bananas and canned pineapples, fancied up with miniature marshmallows. A creamy, rich topping makes it a hit with everyone. This just might be added to the "Please Make" list for potlucks and parties, it is so good.

One of the nicest things about jello is that it has staying power. When mixed with water, jello will keep in the refrigerator for several days. Banana Pineapple Layer Jello can serve up to eight, so you might have leftovers. It is nice to know you can pull the covered bowl out of the refrigerator to dish up a portion whenever you want. It should keep for at least two days if it is not all eaten at once.

One ingredient in this recipe that might seem odd is white vinegar. A semi-tart taste is created when the vinegar's acidity combines with the sweet taste of the jello and fruit. The flavor will balance just right. Although the vinegar can be left out, take a chance and see the wonderful difference that bit of vinegar makes in not only this recipe, but other layer jello recipes, as well.

Cherry Chocolate Jello Cake Recipe

There are a number of different choices that you will have for a jello cake recipe, but you will find that among them, one of the best will be the cherry chocolate choice. This simple recipe will take very little effort on your part to make, but people will be very impressed with how moist and flavorful it turns out. Just be sure you keep a few important pieces of information in mind to ensure everything turns out perfectly.

jello pudding pops

To begin with, you never want to pour your hot liquid on a hot cake. This will result in your creation turning into mush, rather than getting the jello cake recipe to form correctly. Whenever possible, you should allow the cake to cool to the point of being room temperature, and then add in your warmed mixture to the cake. This will help to ensure that you are only absorbing the liquid rather than creating a mess instead.

JELLO

As you make the jello cake recipe, you will also have the option of baking from scratch, or using a boxed mix. Whichever style you prefer will be fine, what you will often find is that if you bake from a box, you can switch things up to get a better flavor as well. Think about throwing in some cherry flavor and cherry chunks into the mix and create a dessert that leaves your entire family with a smile on their faces.

Of course, the flavor combinations that you create can be changed up as you desire. You can make a white cake with lemon jello or any other series of flavors. The important thing will be to meet the delicious flavors of your family. That way you have nothing but a series of satisfied smiles that are sitting around your dinner table.

Remember that this is going to make your cake appear moister and fuller as well. You may want to avoid cutting slices that are too big as well, until you can gauge how your family enjoys the flavor and what their appetites are after having a small slice of your jello cake recipe.

Jello Peach Pound Cake

Everyone loves the flavor of ripe summer peaches. Using jello in this recipe, you get the flavor of peaches in a delicious cake. You add mashed peaches in the cake and in the icing to get that lovely peach texture in this dessert. This is a wonderful dessert to make for a family gathering or other special occasion. It is super easy, but it really delivers on flavor. Once you have tried it, it will fast become a family favorite.

jello molds

You can use fresh or canned peaches for this recipe. If you use fresh ones, choose some that are on the softer side. It is up to you if you prefer cling or freestone peaches. They both offer that great peach flavor that we all love and adore. When you choose fresh peaches at the market, smell the peaches. A ripe peach should have that wonderful peachy smell. It should not have any bruises and have a soft covering of fuzz. Do not squeeze peaches or you will bruise them. Just clutch the fruit firmly enough to feel that slight give in the flesh. The skin should be colored with yellows, oranges and reds; no green. You want a peach that still tastes fresh but is soft enough to mash without leaving hard pieces.

JELLO

You will find fresh peaches are easier to peel if you blanch them in hot water for a minute or two first. The skin loosens and just pulls off. This will make preparing fresh peaches easier for your cake. If you do not want to go to all that work, just get a can of peaches. They taste great and all you need to do is mash them with a fork for the recipe.

When your dessert is done, serve it with style. Cut each slice of your pound cake and lay it on its own plate. You can garnish the slice with a dollop of ice cream with a slice of peach or perhaps a little sprig of mint for color. If you really like peaches, serve it with peach ice cream. You can enjoy this dessert year round; it provides a nice taste of summer when you need it most during the cold weather. It is also a perfect dessert in the heat of summer.
